Inés will probably represent thousands of women who are currently starting, in the process of, or finishing their 30th birthday, an age at which it is assumed that some situations would already be resolved: a partner, a stable job, and others.
However, Inés’ life will take an unexpected turn when she decides to end a seven-year relationship with Marco and discover herself, but she will have to face some stigmas. All that is what will be seen in the movie Thirty, single and fantastic, which premiered on Friday, February 18 on Netflix.
The film stars the actress Barbara Mori, who gives life to Inés. “It’s a movie that also brings up a lot of things that are happening right now. She really is a woman who begins in her life to question how far she should try to continue fitting into that society and how far she should start doing what she wants,” Mori said when it was released in theaters in 2016, during a dialogue for Today’s Chronicle.
“And I think it’s not just a movie for those in their thirties, but for everyone: we’re all on that quest to try to find ourselves in the world and in this quest we lose ourselves trying to fit into those molds. So, it is very important to start listening to yourself, see what your dreams are and go for them, ”he added.
With this film, the Uruguayan, nationalized Mexican, returned to doing comedy in 2016. “For me it was incredible. Returning to comedy after so many years was quite a challenge, being able to remove all this density from my other characters, and aside from 20 years of career. I think it’s one of the characters that I identify with the most,” Mori said in an interview for PMChannel5.
“Inés has always struggled a bit, especially with her mother and with her conservative family… (Besides) they always compare her to her brothers. I am a bit like that, I have always felt that I go to one side and the common denominator of the people who dedicate themselves to what I do go to another side. So, like I’ve always felt weird…” she added.
Juan Pablo Medina, actor of ‘La casa de las flores’, loses a leg due to a venous thrombosis
Also featured in this film John Paul Medina, who gives life to Sensei, a friend of Inés. They will superimpose their friendship over love. The actor said that, although the film focuses on Inés, all the characters were very well constructed so that they in turn had weight and helped the character of Inés to get where she needed to be. “We did a pretty interesting job. Bárbara is a very dedicated woman, very professional…”, commented Medina for Today’s Chronicle. (AND)
