Witold Paszt was born on September 1, 1953 in Zamość. He graduated from a music school in the same city; he went to study in Lublin, where he studied at the music faculty of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie University. He started his musical career in 1977 with the Victoria Singers band. A year later, Paszt founded the VOX vocal quartet, which included Andrzej Kozioł, Ryszard Rynkowski and Jerzy Słota (privately a cousin of Witold Paszt).

The stage debut of the VOX group took place in April 1979 and the International Stage Spring in Poznań. The Interwizji Festival in Sopot in 1980 brought the band the 1st Record Day Award and the Audience Award for the song “Bananowy song”, which remains their biggest hit, next to songs such as “Rycz Mała rycz”, “Szczęśliwego dear already czas” or “Zabiorę się, Magdaleno “. Released in 1981, the album “Monte Carlo Is Great”, which includes songs in English (including “Banana Song”), has sold over 400,000 copies. copies.

Since then, VOX has won awards and distinctions at numerous festivals in Poland and Europe. Their pop songs, largely inspired by American music and gospel, funk and jazz sounds, won the hearts of the audience, among others. in the Netherlands, Sweden, the USSR and Bulgaria. Witold Paszt was the only member of the original line-up to play in the band VOX until the very end.

In 2001 Witold Paszt’s first solo album “Jak Słoń” was released, on which the singer collaborated with Seweryn Krajewski, Robert Chojnacki and Jerzy “Duduś” Matuszkiewicz. Apart from his musical activity, he also had screen appearances, incl. in the films “Stars” and “Planeta Singli 2”.
