In Ecuador, the name of the Canadian Jeff Karram was heard for the first time when he was romantically linked to the Ecuadorian television presenter Maria Teresa ‘la Flaca’ Guerrero. After the divorce of both in 2010 (they were married in a civil ceremony in 2005), Karram settled in the country and began various work projects away from the small screen.

Karram, who was initially known in the media as a surfer and model, has served as executive director of the Ecuadorian production company Levector and also worked as a producer on the documentary film From core to sun, that recreates the feat of Millán Ludeña from Guayaquil, who achieved a Guinness record for running 21 kilometers in the deepest place on earth and then in Chimborazo.

The film cost around 250,000 dollars, including production, travel, payment of the international production team, Guinness Record rights.

“We have always been moving equipment and we had to carry out the process so that the film crew could be used to filming in those conditions,” said the producer who, with Levector, has participated in the production company’s goal of working on film projects and that you now have your first result.

“What you see on the tape is what really happened, Millán’s story as it is. Tell a story that people can understand in an hour and a half of documentary,” said Karram, in a past interview about the documentary.

The Canadian was part of the production team in charge of the presidential campaign of current president Guillermo Lasso.

In 2007, he linked up with music. She then was part, as vocalist and guitarist, of the Christian group Menora (chandelier, in Hebrew), which presented an album entitled It’s not just another demo.

The band then was also made up of Ricardo Chica, keyboardist; Raúl Mera, bassist; Israel Villamar, drummer; Jim Andino, vocalist; Luis Delgado, Christian Ramos and Johnny Santillán, guitarists.

Karram has lived in Ecuador for more than a decade, and formed a home with the Ecuadorian María Isabel Cordero, with whom he had two daughters. He married her in 2013.
