The coachella-festival will not impose the use of masks, nor will it review immunity certificates or coronavirus detection tests, in its next edition, which will take place from April 15 to 17 and from 22 to 24.
The organization of Coachella and Stagecoach, a later festival, confirmed this Wednesday that nor will take any precautions to prevent the spread of the virus among its more than 100,000 attendees, after having had to cancel up to three editions during the toughest months of the pandemic.
“As we prepare for an incredible weekend in the desert, we announce that there will be no vaccination, testing or mask requirements, in accordance with local guidelines.”indicated the famous festival in social networks.
Still, the organizers warned on their website that “There are no guarantees, expressed or implied, that attendees will not be exposed to covid-19″.
The announcement comes days after California authorities changed their public health guidelines, that they no longer oblige -although they recommend- to wear masks or show a certificate of immunity in mass events that are held outdoors, given the drastic drop in the number of infections and hospitalizations.
Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Kanye West (now called Ye) they are the headliners of Coachella that will take place over two weekends; from 15 to 17 and from 22 to 24 April.
This festival held in Indio (California) is considered one of the most important in the world and takes place specifically in the Coachella Valley (in the Colorado desert), where a notable number of renowned Latin artists will also perform for two consecutive weekends.
