Berlinale 2022: this is the list of the winners of the German festival

The jury of the 72nd edition of the Berlinalepresided over by the Indian-American director M. Night Shyamalan, presented its prizes among the 18 films included in the official section of the festival.

Alcarras, directed by Carla Simón, 35, won the Golden Beara film that portrays a family of Catalan peach trees, exponent of the struggle of every small farmer, the love of the land and the desolation before what will be their last harvest.

‘Alcarràs’, the film that won the Golden Bear, the highest prize at the Berlinale

Simón, who was returning to the festival after having won the award for best first film at the Berlinale in 2017 with Summer 1993, dedicated the highest award to all the small farmers who, like those in his film, fight for survival.

The jury valued in the film the tenderness that Simón imprinted on his characters, in a film performed by non-professional actors with whom the director created a real family.

The following is the list of winners, along with those corresponding to the Encounters section, the second most important of the festival. (I)
