Joy! 500 Years of Music ”is the show in which all the musical genres that have identified the island during its five centuries of foundation will be presented.
Hits by Daddy Yankee, Ricky Martin, Calle 13 and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico will be performed at the concert “¡Alegría! 500 Years of Music ”, in which there will be a tour of all the musical genres that have identified the island during the five centuries of founding of the city of San Juan.
Also, themes by Olga Tañón, Menudo, Lucecita Benítez and Antonio Cabán Vale, as well as the poem “Oubao Moin”, by Juan Antonio Corretjer, will be declared on November 14 in the René Marqués Room of the Santurce Fine Arts Center by Yaire , Barreto and Víctor Santiago, as reported this Sunday in a press release.
Similarly, hits by iconic composers such as Noel Estrada, Rafael Hernández, Myrta Silva, Sylvia Rexach and Rafael Cortijo will also be included in the evening.
Flamenco, Bomba, Plena, Dance, Mountain music will be presented in a different way that will be directed by the composer, arranger and musical director of this project, William Cepeda.
For their performances, Yaire, Barreto and Víctor Santiago will be accompanied by an orchestra of first-class musicians together with the Student Choir of the Escuela Libre de Música de San Juan.
In addition, the cuatrista Fabiola Muñoz and the pianist Adlan Cruz will have their moments as soloists exalting the music of greats and paying tribute to figures such as Roberto Clemente, Rita Moreno, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Raúl Juliá and José Ferrer, among others.
