“Cold pistol”: judicial note reveals that actor Alec Baldwin was warned that the gun was without bullets on the set

Baldwin was filming “Rust” on a ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Actor Alec Baldwin, who accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while filming a movie in the U.S., was tipped off that the prop pistol he used had no bullets, according to the affidavit held by the U.S. court. county of Santa Fe, in the state of New Mexico.

“Cold gun,” yelled assistant production director Dave Halls as he handed Baldwin the gun, as pistols without live ammunition are known in movie lingo, according to documents released today.

However, the pistol was loaded, so when the actor fired the director of photography Halyna Hutchins accidentally died, while the director of the film, Joel Souza, was injured.

Baldwin was filming “Rust”, a “western” that was filmed on a ranch near Santa Fe, in New Mexico (southern United States).

This Saturday, the director of the film, Joel Souza, was “destroyed” by the death of Halyna Hutchins, noting that she was an “incredibly talented” cinematographer.

The incident occurred Thursday at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, a scene where many Hollywood productions often travel.

For the moment, the authorities have ruled out filing criminal charges and are interviewing the film’s crew in order to clarify the facts.

The company in charge of filming, in which Baldwin acts as the protagonist and producer, issued a letter saying that the entire team is “devastated” by what happened and promised to offer psychological help to all people related to the filming, that it will be suspended indefinitely.

This Friday, however, it was known that several employees of the filming protested alleged poor working conditions and lack of security.

According to sources quoted by the Los Angeles Times newspaper, half a dozen assistants and camera operators resigned en bloc on the day of the fatal accident, since in the previous days there were problems with that same weapon, which in their opinion was not properly supervised. (I)
