Legend has it that he opposed the imperial decree that legionnaires were not allowed to marry between the ages of 18 and 37. As a result, he was sent to prison, where he fell in love with a blind girl. The woman was about to regain her eyesight under the influence of his ardent feeling.

On Valentine’s Day, they gained popularity in the 1990s and have both opponents and supporters. Some of them criticize them for the influence of foreign culture on native customs and traditions, and above all for commerce and shopping.
