Would Camilla of Cornwall have the British throne if Prince Charles dies while king?

The conversations about the future of the british monarchy seem to have accelerated after Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday and his recent breaks and doctor-ordered absencesthough never without completely abandoning his commitment to the crown.

This week, after the british sovereign publicly and officially express their wish that Camilla of Cornwall becomes queen when his son prince charlesalso accede to the throne, the questions about the future of that royal house intensified.

What would happen if Carlos, already crowned His Majesty the King, dies? Would it be Queen Consort Camilla’s turn to sit on the throne? Even if the line of succession of the monarchy is clear and so it would be Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, who would assume the crownCamila would remain as queen, in some way.

in the royal family, Queen Mother titles are awarded to the widow of the king and mother of the monarch. But since Camilla is technically not Prince William’s mother., things get a bit complicated. Even if the final decision to grant Camila that title or not would fall on the new kingWilliam.

A spokesman for Clarence House has, however, emphasized that detailed planning for a coronation (that of Prince Charles) begins at the time of the succession. And that, therefore, despite the announcement by Queen Elizabeth II, there are no such plans yet at this stage.
