this week is Children’s Mental Health Week (7-13 February 2022) in the UK. The theme chosen for this year is ‘Growing Together’ and the purpose of the Place2Be organization, which launched the first Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015, is to highlight the importance of mental health in children and young people. “We are encouraging children (and adults) to consider how they have grown and how they can help others grow,” the website says.
Among the activities to be carried out is the participation of Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, who is Honorary President of the Place2Be organization. She is one of the many celebrities who have participated in the network’s ‘Bedtime Stories’ series CBeebiesand Reese Witherspoon appeared last week on the popular children’s show reading Extraordinary! by Penny Harrison, celebrating special moments shared with friends and family.
Other cases are that of Dolly Parton, Ewan McGregor, Elton John, Tom Hiddleston, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans and Tom Hardy who have appeared on multiple occasions in ‘Bedtime Stories’ to the delight of children and mothers alike.
Kate chose to read a book that has been a favorite of her own children, Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte. Is about The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, Jill Tomlinson’s children’s classic tells the story of Plop, a baby barn owl who is helped by others to overcome his fears and gain confidence.
CBeebies bedtime stories they have long been a lifesaver for exhausted parents, whose children are told a soothing story at the end of the night to help them sleep.
