The organization of the festival Riverside Soundwhich will be held on July 15, 16 and 17 in Tudelahas announced its programming, made up entirely of female artists with the aim of “making visible, recognizing and extolling their indisputable musical quality within a scene that still shows great inequality”.
Rozalen (Friday and Amaya (Saturday) headline the new edition of the Navarrese festival, in which they will share the stage with Natalia Lacunza, Ana Tijoux, Sofía Gabanna, MARLENA, Chica Sobresalto, María Blaya, Miss Raisa, Paula Mattheus, Andrea Santiago, Anne Lukin and the DJs AWWZ, Cristina Casado, DREA, HITO, NIKKA, XUNE and Zaira Sánchez.
Tickets will go on sale this Friday, February 11, at 12:00 on the festival website.
The step of presenting a poster 100% of female artists responds to an attempt to “make visible, recognize and extol the indisputable musical quality of female artists within a scene that still shows great inequality. Their role in this industry is transversal and therefore , their place should be at the head of posters or as emerging artists to be discovered, of which the whole world will speak tomorrow”, as explained by the organization.
“We must fight against the situation of inequality that prevails in the music industry. In recent years there has been some progress, but much remains to be done. This is a project that we had in mind for a long time as a result of the frustration we were facing due to the difficulty that it can entail to equate male and female names on posters”, says Mario Cornago, director of Ribera Sound.
