No wonder that Paramount and Tom Cruise were eagerly moving on to the next parts. The actor is well known in the industry for shooting risky and spectacular stunts himself. He wants to provide the audience with the greatest and most realistic experience, so he insists on shooting in the field, in real locations. Due to this approach, the creators have a problem with finishing the seventh part of the famous spy saga.

The budget of Mission: Impossible 7 is growing dangerously

The production of the film arouses surprisingly many emotions in various parts of the world. In Poland, the production was loud due to the idea that the historic bridge in Pilchowice should imitate Swiss traction. Worse, the plans of the film crew were to assume that the structure, now about 113 years old, was to be damaged during the explosion scene – the filmmakers were also to undertake to cover the renovation costs. There were attempts to deny these reports, the more so that the Polish Film Institute even awarded a subsidy for photos as part of the regulations encouraging foreign filming crews to shoot in Poland. The case ended with the bridge being entered into the register of monuments, and Tom Cruise filmed the scene with the fall of the train in Great Britain. But this is only one of the embarrassing episodes that the director and producers had to deal with during the project.

Due to the pandemic, it was necessary to postpone shooting several times, and in that time pay the employees who were waiting in the emergency room. The photos were supposed to be shot in Venice, but luck would have it that the timing of the recordings coincided perfectly with the moment when the coronavirus epidemic raged for good and lockdown was introduced in Lombardy. The filmmakers moved to Rome, where they filmed in the streets of the city, but also there the work had to be put on hold. As “Variey” reports, it is only costly for the team to logistically work out the closure of streets or Venetian canals for public traffic. Cruise and director Christopher McQuarri’s penchant for realistic and credible chase and outburst scenes carries additional costs.

The pandemic has forced Paramount and Skydance Media to deal with constantly emerging contingencies. The scale of the problem is clearly seen in this example: Mission: Impossible – Fallout cost $ 190 million to produce. The seventh installment has already swallowed up $ 100 million more, he analyzes. “Producer Skydance Media contributed 240 million of that, and when the director and Cruise said last summer that they needed more to finish the film, he declined any further funding. Paramount is looking for ways to somehow compensate for these expenses: In August, the studio filed a lawsuit against the Federal Insurance Office for breach of contract. Once again, it was also necessary to postpone the premiere: “Mission: Impossible 7” from September 30, 2022 to July 14, 2023, the eighth part is to be released in theaters on July 28, 2024.
