Danish Queen Margaret II has tested positive for COVID-19 with non-serious symptoms, the royal palace announced on Wednesday.
The 81-year-old sovereign, who had received a booster dose in November, tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday night, and “has only mild symptoms,” the royal palace said in a statement.
However, the very popular monarch, who has just celebrated 50 years on the throne, had to cancel her vacation in Norway and is confined to her palace in Copenhagen, respecting health regulations.
Despite lifting restrictions in this Scandinavian country, the authorities recommend that those contaminated be isolated for at least four days.
Margarita II is not the first sovereign to be contaminated by covid. The king and queen of Sweden, aged 75 and 78, also tested positive in early January. (I)
