Sebastián Yatra among the Oscar nominees for Best Song for interpreting ‘Dos Oruguitas’

The good omens with this animated musical film were also certified with the nomination for the song “Dos oruguitas”, composed by the Puerto Rican Lin-Manuel Miranda and sung by Sebastián Yatra, for best original song.

The Latin talent of Miranda and Yatra has been recognized with the nomination for “Dos oruguitas”, a song that Disney selected in its Oscar nomination with “Encanto”.

A decision that surprised due to the success that another of the songs, inspired by Colombian folklore, which also plays in the film, has also reaped since its premiere: “We don’t talk about Bruno”.

As for the soundtrack of “Encanto”, its composer, Germaine Franco, managed to enter the list of five finalists to win the award in that category.

The film’s original soundtrack, released by Walt Disney Records, features eight original songs from the Tony and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter. Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana: A Sea of ​​Adventures) with music and orchestral arrangements by award-winning composer Germain Franco (Dora and the lost city, Little, Catch you!). The soundtrack also includes the song Colombia, My Charm in the voice of the Colombian singer, composer and actor Carlos Vives.

In the film, Yatra performs the original song two caterpillars in Spanish, in addition to Two Caterpillars, the English version, in the end credits. In this way, the Colombian also became a Disney boy.
