Finally, the most anticipated day for fans of one of the most commented juvenile novels of the moment arrived, the premiere of through my window It’s already a reality on Netflix. The film adaptation of the saga of the Hidalgo brothers, created by the Venezuelan writer Ariana Godoy, land on the platform streaming with new faces in its cast.

This first volume is made into a film by the director Marcal Fores, who has had the responsibility of turning into an audiovisual language the intriguing and obsessed love story between Rachel and Ares (whose nickname in the story is Greek God)personified by the Spanish Clara Galle and Julio Pena, respectively.
“To tell a story it is not enough to know how to write, you also have to have the courage to do it”, whispers its protagonist in the first seconds of the tape. And that was precisely what happened years ago with its author, who she found in wattpad, the internet self-publishing platform, a space in which to capture his story, despite all the difficulties that he encountered along the way. His success was such that in 2019 he was already in bookstores around the world. In Ecuador it was positioned as one of the best-selling works of the FIL Guayaquil.

The story travels along the lines of obsession at the time of love, as the character of Raquel, a teenager, is madly attracted to Ares, her neighbor and a young man who comes from a wealthy family. Her ‘mania’ and to some extent ‘psychosis’ is such that she secretly watches every move he makes in his life; on her laptop she keeps photos, videos and information about him, as well as several texts silently dedicated to Ares.
In an interview for The vanguard, its director Forés referred to the evolution of Raquel’s character. “The film is nothing more than dismantling that idealization of obsessive love that Raquel has at the beginning of the novel. And discover how that house of cards that she had assembled by herself is crumbling to discover something that can hurt her, but that will also give her many surprises ”, express.

Meanwhile, Godoy explained that from the beginning it was proposed that the book have a lot of emotional growth. “I really liked Raquel’s impulses. From the beginning I had in mind that the characters that started in the novel were not going to be the same at the end. I think the base was always that. See how they shed their shells and those strong impulses”, the Venezuelan maintained.
This is how the story has twists, like the conventional approaches that Ares has with Raquel, which play between seduction, rejection, loneliness and love. Which for many would translate into a large number of red flags.
The film lasts almost two hours and is available in Spanish and English. His cast is complemented by Guillermo Lasheras, Natalia Azahara, Hugo Arbues, Eric Masip, Emilia Lazo, Abel Folk, Rachel Lascar and Pilar Castro. (AND)
