Sergio Vivar and Ren Kai, together for a new version of ‘Proof of love’

The greatest test of love that people in love live is to keep the feeling alive. Overcome the adversities that come along the way and be faithful to the oath of union that most take at the beginning of a relationship. These different stages that couples experience are recounted in Love Test, song originally written by the Ecuadorian singer Serge Vivar and that this year takes a new sound with the collaboration of the artist Ren Kai.

“We have a few years of friendship, Sergio was the one who produced one of my first songs called Fly and since then we have maintained our friendship and at one point we talked, while we were doing a test, how this song by Sergio would sound in an urban version. Being an artist whose songs are generally urban pop, we tried to do something like that and we thought it was pretty cool how everything started to sound and from there we thought to work on this remix”, mentions Ren Kai.

Since 2021 they began working on this new version of the ballad that Vivar premiered in 2019 and that served as a promotional song for the game show that bore the same name in Ecuavisa. “It is a very arduous process, because getting to the point where you say I like it is very complex, there are many resources that you can use but not all of them end up fulfilling you. We also didn’t want to bring up the subject until we felt that there was a reactivation. We are betting on this year that everything will be reactivated and as a matter of faith we decided to give this year everything, ”says Vivar on the theme that premiered at midnight this Thursday.

Ecuadorians Elvis Guapulema and Keyfer are the producers of this song in this new version.

“It is just going to come out with a conceptual video of everything that is coming in terms of Sergio’s songs and releases throughout the year, it is like a beginning of the concept of all this”, Ren Kai points out while Vivar adds that “this it is somehow, the line or theme that the album is going to have. This is the year we are going to start publishing it. The album is practically produced, this song flirts with urban pop, the album is going to be quite varied, we are still a bit undecided about the name of the album”.

Regarding the album, Vivar explains, he wants to handle a concept based on ‘the war of love’ that he has experienced personally. “Actually the album speaks or will speak for all the situations you can go through in life. They are going to come out song by song until October and then the complete album comes out with the songs that have not been promoted. Until last year there were 7 now there are 12 songs”, adds the interpreter of My friend.

The revival of Love Test It is not the only project that unites artists. Vivar and Ren Kai are partners in La Real Sociedad, an independent label with which they seek to support new national talents to create and promote their music.

“Many projects are coming together because since last year we started with La Real Sociedad, which is basically an independent label, from which we seek to turn it into a platform that allows more artists from Ecuador to join and that we can share knowledge, promote careers and push the industry and for it to grow. We have been able to start a work team in which some artists are already part of and we are excited about what is going to come out under the name of the label”, says Ren Kai.

Until now, Vivianna, Gulf Air Y Sea Rendon They are part of the artists that are part of La Real Sociedad, which began as an idea in 2015. “The vision of La Real Sociedad is to create industry in a country where we do not have it, and not having an industry occurs due to many factors, including which is disunity, not being able to unite and share as Colombians, Venezuelans do. Here nobody is number one, if we all work together we will be able to create a movement that is like a tide. One of the main problems is that there is no continuity and so the payroll is refreshed monthly,” emphasizes Vivar.

“Our idea is to help other artists to emerge,” says Vivar about the record company in which he focuses on production while Ren Kai assumes the directing part together with a partner who supports the financial part.

Son of a Chinese father and an Ecuadorian mother, the musician with three years of career, begins the year with this collaboration with Vivar. He has planned new presentations, also in conjunction with other artists.

“A lot of music is coming, last year I released this first part of this conceptual album called Unfinished Love and this year we are going to finish it, songs are coming that question other stages of relationships, of love and in the end the music and great Part of it is about this emotion of love,” he says.

Ren Kai assures that she now plans to explore other genres at this stage that defines her more adult in her career. “We are in an era of content and the competition is international, anyone with a click can listen to others, we are competing for time, it is a very competitive era in that sense, music in a certain way, as it is art, is also quite relative in terms of taste, on many occasions it depends more on how much one reaches the right group so that it amplifies much more”, he emphasizes.
