Liam Gallagher and new single “Everything’s Electric”. Oasis frontman is about to begin with what may be the best year of his career

The third album of the younger Gallagher brother is not due out until May 27, but its preview is really good. And not only because fans of the solo career of the former singer of the band Oasis had to wait a long time for it.

Sure, Liam threatened that after the successes of his two previous albums (2017’s “As You Were” and 2019’s “Why me? Why not.” quickly did not keep. He reached his next number one number with his 2020 concert album “MTV Unplugged”, where he performed on stage in Hull with his former Oasis buddy Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs. In the same year, Liam released the Christmas brick-song “All You’re Dreaming of” and in the following year, along with his friend Richard Ashcroft (formerly The Verve), “C’mon People”.

“Everything’s Electric” – Liam Gallagher’s new single

Now we heard the premiere track from the new album “C’mon You Know” and seriously, it’s worth waiting until May. The fans liked “Everything’s Electric”. The first video with text on Youtube appeared at midnight from Thursday to Friday. Until the morning, when the official premiere of the single, the artist promoted on the BBC and RadioX, it had already been listened to tens of thousands of times.

What can I say – catchy. A very rhythmic, strongly guitar-like composition, with simple lyrics and uncomplicated rhymes, it doesn’t need a few auditions to take root. The pace of the expressive bass guitar and drums is especially noteworthy. There, “Everything’s Electric” is ruled by text and music co-author Dave Grohl. There is no need for any introduction – vocalist, guitarist, founder of Foo Fighters and former drummer of Nirvana. Privately – Liam’s friend and spreader of the unquestionable thesis that Oasis was the best rock band in the world.

Perhaps it is in this collaboration that the reasons why even the most fanatical supporters of the church “will never come up with a better song than Wonderwall” nod approvingly. There is no shortage of opinions that this is one of the most interesting pieces in Liam Gallagher’s solo career. And from the two previous albums that were very well rated by everyone (except for brother Noel), there is a lot to choose from.

Liam Gallagher vs Oasis 25 years later at Knebworth Park

Gallagher sounds good in this song, but the distinctive vocals are tamed, not howling as they did at the end of Oasis and their breakup 13 years ago. Musically – everything buttoned up to the last button. He managed to do it again – with a simple, cool, but also strongly guitar composition, it made fans shiver and move them to where they never wanted to be taken – until the 90’s. And it’s all over a quarter of a century, from “Supersonic”, “Slide Away”, “Whatever”, “Hello”, “Rock’n’Roll Star”, “Live Forever”, “Wonderwall”, “D’You Know What I Mean.” “or” Don’t Look Back in Anger “- to name probably the most famous ones.

And this transfer in time will continue. No matter how good Gallagher’s third album is, he has already contracted two giant festival concerts at Knebworth Park this year. Oasis fans, but also music in general, this name will play in the ears. After 25 years, Liam will return to the place where with his brother and the rest of the band he played two concerts day after day, which gathered over a quarter of a million audience. A documentary was made about this event in 2021, in which the words “the greatest musical event in history” are mentioned more than once.

Will the tracks from “C’mon You know” and previous albums as well as the twice-older singer stand this comparison to the legendary material from the album of the icon “What ‘the Story Morning Glory”?

I’m excited, I’ve done it before and it was great. The best thing about it is that I didn’t remember much the first time. So I have a chance to do it again and of course I’m older and a little wiser. I’ll make the most of what I can

Gallagher recently said on The Chris Moyles Show on RadioX. Everything’s Electric should sound pretty good at Knebworth Park.
