has just announced a tour during which she will play seven spring concerts. This announcement is interesting because for the first time the full material of the artist’s latest album, “AVE MARIA”, enthusiastically received by fans and hailed as the album of the year by the Polityka weekly, will be heard live.
Maria Peszek goes on tour
“AVE MARIA” is Maria Peszek’s fifth studio album. There are 10 songs on the disc, including the first single “Virunga”, which the singer dedicated to LGBT + people, or the song that gave the name of the tour, “J * bię it all”. This particular song is a love song, which tells a surreal story happening on an island that is not really there, but anyone can create it for themselves. It all starts with the words’ I’d like to buy you an island at the end of the world, you know. The three of us would be there, just you and me and the dog ‘- on Spotify alone, the song has over a million plays.
It is also a song about the power of imagination, promoted by a famous clip in which Marta Malikowska, known from such series as “Blinded by the lights” or “Skazana”, played with Maria Peszek. The actresses played the role of a couple in love.
The album also deals with topics such as women’s rights, and in the single “Barbarka” Peszek sings about sexual harassment in the Catholic Church. The album garnered praise from music critics and went to the top of the OLiS list. The explosive material will be heard live by viewers in Białystok, Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań, Grańsk, Bielsko Biała and Warsaw.

Maria Peszek began her artistic career as an actress in the early 1990s. In 2005, she released her first album “Miasto mania” – the material was created in cooperation with Wojtek Waglewski and his sons – Fisz and Emade. The next one was “Maria Awaria”, released three years later, produced by Andrzej Smolik – both albums met with the approval of critics and the audience, which contributed to the fact that Peszek became one of the most popular figures on the Polish alternative scene. In 2012, she released her third album “Jesus Maria Peszek”, which was a commercial and artistic success. The fourth album – “Karabin” – was released in 2016: the album quickly gained gold status, but this time critics expressed ambivalent opinions.
Peszek sings bluntly and uses strong means of expression, no wonder he evokes extreme emotions. The artist is known for her moving and uncompromising texts on religiousness, Polishness and traditional social roles – her work has repeatedly shocked Polish public opinion.
