Remigiusz Mróz: I would not be able to put through books what is happening in the Polish parliament

is the most widely read Polish writer and undoubtedly one of the most prolific. Currently, the series is being broadcast on the basis of his novel “Behaviorist”, the new book “Riese Project” also had its premiere, also published as an audioserial available only in the Empik Go application. Where does the author get ideas for all this? During the interview with Beata Tadla, he admitted that, on the one hand, Polish politics can be very inspiring and provide a lot of topics for the novel, and on the other, he emphasized that Polish “reality often trumps fiction”.

Remigiusz Mróz: Polish politics is unrealistic

As a lawyer by training, Remigiusz Mrz has no problems with imagining Joanna Chyłka – a perky and ruthless lawyer, who is the main character of his most popular crime series. The writer also created other publishing cycles, including the political series “In power circles”, which he decided to suspend because he was tired of politics. However, Beata Tadli said in an interview on Radio Zet that it could actually be a source of serious inspiration. However, Polish realities outweigh literary fiction:

Things happen in the Polish parliament that I wouldn’t be able to get it into my books. It would be unreal. If, for example, I wrote that a party or the ruling camp led to a reassumption of voting, it would be difficult to get out of it in terms of plot. Normally the government should be overthrown.

On the one hand, the actions of the ruling party are difficult to explain in a plot and logically, on the other hand, he believes that Polish politicians are not suitable for the heroes of books:

Most Polish politicians are predictable. When they give interviews, we often already know what they are going to say. It’s hard to get into crime fiction.

The writer, with a slight amusement, noted during the same conversation that he had described the wiretaps using Pegasus even before it was known that PiS was actually monitoring selected people in this way:

In my books, politicians admitted that Pegasus really was with us. It was prophetic. When this information came out, there were quotes about Pegasus from my books on social media.

In addition, Mróz revealed that the screening of his work is not over on “Chyłka” and “Behawiorycie” and he estimates that at least five series productions are waiting for viewers. What kind? The writer sold the rights to the screening of “Black Madonna” and the aforementioned “In the circle of power”. The next titles are to be announced in March.

So far, the specialist in screening Remigiusz Mróz’s novels is Łukasz Palkowski – the director who created the film “Gods” about Zbigniew Religa, the crime series “Belfer”, all five seasons of “Chyłka” and the latest “Behaviorist”. In an interview with Gazeta.pl, he told how the cooperation with Remigiusz Mróz was going through all these screenings: – In cooperation with Remek, it is beautiful that nobody is so interested in how we do it as he is. How much different, that is. In fact, he probably has the most fun with how his ideas are processed. The farther it is from the book, the more he enjoys it. This is beautiful. It’s hard to find an author who approaches the work he wrote so freely. Remek has a lot of ease in this and is curious about how other people will look at it, that it is unusual and I have an impression – unique – said the director of “Behaviorist” in an interview with Gazeta.pl.
