Films about Hitler: more or less known titles about the great criminal

Movies about Hitler – titles of the most important works

The titles of films about Hitler are more or less known. It must be admitted, however, that there are many images with a very large thread about one of the greatest criminals in history. Much more than they were devoted to Stalin or Mao Zedong. Characteristically, they also appear among them, which may be a bit shocking. The Dictator from 1940, with the magnificent role of Charlie Chaplin, already operated on satire.

The list includes the most famous productions: both those dedicated directly to Hitler and those concerning important episodes with his participation. We are talking here about, for example, “Valkyrie” based on the story of Claus von Stauffenberg and his unsuccessful attempt on the leader of the Third Reich. It is undoubtedly worth mentioning the films:

  • 1940’s Dictator, dir. Ch. Chaplin
  • ” Walkiria ” from 2008, dir. B. Singer
  • “Fall” from 2004, dir. Father Hirschbiegel
  • ” Hitler: The Birth of Evil ” from 2003, dir. Ch. Duguaya
  • ” He’s Back ” from 2015, dir. D. Wnendt
  • ” Bunker ” from 1981, dir. G. Schaefer
  • ” Hitler – The Last 10 Days ” from 1973 in E. De Concini
  • “Adolf H. – I’ll show you!” From 2007, dir. D. Levy

A film about Hitler and his last days: The Fall, 2004.

Which film about Hitler is worth watching due to certain historical realities in his life? Undoubtedly, one of the most mysterious and at the same time interesting moments in the terrible biography of the criminal are the last days of his life. The dictator ended up trapped in a bunker under the Reich Chancellery building. He was accompanied only by close associates and only a few Nazi politicians, led by Joseph Goebbels. The FĆ¼hrer probably lost touch with reality to a greater and greater extent, eventually taking his own life – how did this come about? Historians argue as to what happened then in the bunker near the Reich Chancellery. The 2004 film “The Fall” is an attempt to answer these questions and reconstruct the events. The picture received very good notes from both viewers and critics. Bruno Ganz, who plays the main role, received excellent marks.

Comedy about Hitler – “He’s Back”

A comedy about Hitler? Although it may seem like an eccentric idea, the character of the great criminal has very often been portrayed in animated series for adults, but sometimes also in full-length comedy films. An example is “He’s Back” from 2015. The film is based on the novel by Timur Vermes.

Adolf Hitler wakes up here in the realities of the modern world, totally unable to find himself in it. Of course, a lot of laughing events happen along the way. Hitler himself resembles a Nazi criminal only in appearance and clothes – and he is sometimes perceived as his perfect double. Rather, he is a bum with views that are seen as a bizarre joke. He’s Back, however, is not only a shallow comedy – the last minutes of the film testify to that.

A film about the attack on Hitler with Tom Hanks

Undoubtedly, a very interesting picture is the film about the attack on Hitler from, or “Valkyrie”. In it, Hanks played Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg – the man who attacked the leader of the Third Reich on July 20, 1944. Although this act apparently had to be successful, it was likely that a series of events caused Hitler to survive by sustaining wounds. What happened earlier in the FĆ¼hrer’s quarters called the Wolf’s Lair? It’s worth finding out while watching Valkyrie.
