Acids, retinol, peels are very common elements. Used in moderation and common sense, they have a positive effect on our skin. However, when applied too often to the face, they can irritate it. It is most often manifested by redness, burning or itching. How to deal with it and soothe unpleasant ailments? The answer is in the kitchen cupboard.

Unusual use of oatmeal. Apply it on your face and feel relieved

Oatmeal is not only a tasty and very nutritious breakfast. Although oatmeal is primarily associated with food, there is much more. It turns out that they are great for skin care, especially the skin that requires soothing and hydration. They are rich in proteins, vitamins, fatty acids and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron, silicon and calcium. They are assigned properties:

  • antioxidant,
  • anti-inflammatory
  • antioxidant,
  • antibacterial,
  • anti-cancer.

Due to its properties, oatmeal is great for dry and even diseases such as eczema or psoriasis. An oatmeal poultice may help in the case of itching. It is enough to take a few tablespoons of cereal and mix them with the same amount of warm water. After waiting for them to swell, it remains to apply the resulting mush to the problem area. Wash off after about 20 minutes. This oatmeal mask is also great for blemishes. Oats absorb excess sebum and have an antibacterial effect, thus preventing the formation of new blemishes and healing the existing ones.

Additionally, you can make a homemade tonic from oatmeal. It is enough to pour half a glass of oat flakes with a glass of warm water and set aside for a few hours. Then pour the water (also squeezing the flakes through the gauze) into the container. Such a liquid can be applied to irritated skin even several times a day.

Remember! If something irritated or sensitized you and you are worried about any symptoms, it is best to consult a dermatologist or qualified cosmetologist.
