The Hollywood Academy honors the careers of Latinos like Eva Longoria and John Leguizamo

The first episode will visit the house of the Colombian John Leguizamo (uncle’s voice Bruno in the recent Disney movie, Charm) in New York and review the evolution of latinos in the American entertainment world, as well as the stereotypes that the actor had to face in his beginnings.

Later, the program will premiere other installments filmed in Los Angeles with Edward James Olmos (played Abraham Quintanilla in the movie Selena, along with JLo), who runs various educational initiatives in the city, and Eva Longoria (Desperate housewives), who completed a master’s degree in Chicano Studies at Northridge University in California.

On the other hand, the Academy confirmed last week that a total of 276 films compete to be nominated for the Oscar for the best film of the year, what it means the smallest record of the last 10 years due to the pandemic.

The official list of nominees will be known on February 8.
