The film “918 gau” will compete at the Punto de Vista festival

The festival Point of view, promoted by the Government of Navarra and organized by the public company NICDO, will be held in Pamplona from March 14 to 19.

As announced this Wednesday at the press conference in which this sixteenth edition was presented, the Official Section will feature a total of 21 films, thirteen feature films and eight short films.

One of them will be “918 close”, by Arantza Santesteban, which will compete in the Official Section after its successful passage through other festivals, in which it has been awarded in Lisbon, Turin and Galicia. The starting point of the film is the night of October 4, 2007.

That night, several vans from the National Police detained Santesteban. She was accused of a crime of terrorism for her political activity in a party banned by the Law of Parties of the year 2002. The film arises from the 918 nights spent in prison after that arrest.

In addition, out of competition, you can also see “Horses Die at Dawn”, by the Navarran filmmaker Ione Atenea, which offers a reflection on the objects of the dead and our relationship with them after their death.

Punto de Vista will be organized into seven large sections, including already well-known sections such as the Official Section, ‘Retrospectives’, ‘Contemporary Spotlights’, the ‘X Films Project’ or the Educational Program.
