“The top”, fourth feature film by the director Ibon Cormenzana, will hit theaters in Hegoalde on March 25. The film, “a story about companionship, courage, connection with nature and life, the weight of promises and love”, stars Patricia Lopez Arnaiz (“Ane”) and Javier Rey.
The film narrates the adventure of Ione and Mateo during their ascent to Annapurna, one of the most dangerous mountains on the planet, which will confront them with nature and help them reconnect with life.
The film is based on an original plot by Cormenzana himself, it is written by Nerea Castro and the team includes Paula Olaz in music, Zaloa Ziluaga in art direction, Nerea Torrijos in costumes and Olga Cruz in makeup and hairdressing.
In addition to being a director (“Jaizkibel”, “Los Totenwackers”, “Alegría, triste”), Cormenzana has also stood out as a producer in films such as “Blancanieves”, by Pablo Berger; “The tree of blood”, by Julio Medem; or “Mother”, by Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
In 2021, in addition, he has independently shot the feature film “Culpa”, a psychological drama starring Manuela Vellés.
