The Bilbao artist Alaitz Arenzana has assumed the direction of the Bilbao LGTBI + film festival Zinegoak, replacing Pau Guillén, who will continue to be linked to the festival in programming tasks and as a member of the management committee.
On the other hand, the contest has released its poster for the 19th edition, which will be held from February 28 to March 7, in which the right of homosexuals to name themselves freely “without imposed labels” is claimed.
This year’s Zinegoak image, created by designer Lander Telletxea, will be made up of several posters that refer to the different ways of naming lesbianism and sexual diversity in Basque, with words like “Marioker” “Lumatzak”, “Soropila “, “Kapaza” or “Kuir”.
These concepts have been compiled in the project “Nola izan/esan bollera euskaraz” created by June Fernández and Amaia Alvarez Uria and promoted by Zinegoak, in which a dictionary has been made with several words collected throughout Euskal Herria.
