A romantic evening for two is a dream scenario for many busy parents – dreams that are simply forgotten in the course of everyday life. Paweł Domagała is well aware of this, so to inspire all couples in need of respite, he composed with Łukasz Borowiecki the song “Dzieci u grandiadków”.
“Children at Grandparents”. Paweł Domagała: The most difficult thing is to find romanticism in the daily routine
– Usually in romantic comedies and generally in pop culture, stories are shown up to a point. There are two people, they can’t be together, because there is something. After various adventures, they are finally together and we have a happy ending. In fact, this is where the fight really begins. The most difficult thing to find romanticism and elation in the daily routine, which with effort can be beautiful and important – says Paweł Domagała about “Children with Grandparents”.
The actor and musician together with the band appeared in the music video, in which the main roles of the parents on the long-awaited date, as if they were meeting each other for the first time, were played by Joanna Koroniewska-Dowbor and Marcin Stec. Zuza Grabowska made her debut as a director.
– At first I was nervous, but the invitation to cooperate with “proven” people with whom I had already done something, turned out to be a bull’s eye. Everyone did their job very professionally and with full commitment. It was nice to see the world created in my head come to life – recalls Grabowska, privately Domagała’s wife.
Łukasz Borowiecki, a permanent musical associate of Paweł Domagała, emphasizes that “there are songs that you want to play at a concert right after the lyrics and melody are created”. – It was like that with “Take it, don’t ask”, it is like with the song “Children with grandparents”. The fantastic thing is that we can see how the audience reacts to the song. “Dzieci (…)” we played at over 80 concerts and received such a positive reaction that we couldn’t wait to record it in the studio, shoot a music video and release it into the world – says the musician and producer.
The song “Dzieci u grandiadków” comes from the new album of the Domagała & Borowiecki duo. Its title, “Narnia”, refers to Paul’s favorite book, “The Chronicles of Narnia” by CS Lewis. Contrary to “1984” and “Wracaj”, the upcoming album will focus on notes from everyday life. The premiere of “Narnia” is scheduled for November 2022.
