“Too Big for Fairy Tales” is an extremely warm, funny and sensitive story about how to face difficult life situations. Karolina Gruszka, Dorota Kolak, Andrzej Grabowski and the rising stars of the screen: Maciej Karaś, Patryk Siemek and Amelia Fijałkowska introduce viewers to the world of children’s passions, hidden dreams and the hardships of growing up. A family film directed by Kristoffer Rus will hit theaters on March 18.

“Too big for fairy tales” – what is the film about?

In Waldek’s life, filled mainly with computer games, there is a real earthquake. During her absence, mum stays under the care of a crazy and unpredictable aunt, who introduces discipline that has been alien to him so far and imposes new duties. But although an extraordinary relative gives Waldek a real survival camp, the boy also receives the most valuable life lesson from her.

The script of the film was based on the book of the same title and written by its author, Agnieszka Dąbrowska.

It is a story about Waldek’s maturation and breaking away from his loving mother, with whom he has a beautiful bond. Teresa loves her son very much. However, struggling with his own problems, fears and frustrations, he often pours them onto the boy, not allowing him to grow up and be independent. – She tries so hard to look after her son that she constantly keeps him under a roof – Karolina Gruszka, Teresa, mother of the main character tells about her role.

A spoiled ten-year-old Waldek (Maciej Karaś) wants to take part in the largest gaming tournament in Europe. It seems that his mother’s illness (Karolina Gruszka) and the eccentric aunt (Dorota Kolak) will stand in the way of fulfilling his dream, but unexpectedly it is thanks to them that the boy will gain something more than winning the tournament.
