Dorota Zawadzka became popular thanks to television programs in which she explained to her parents how to deal with their naughty children. Although now we see her less and less in classic media, she is very active in social media. Recently, on her Facebook profile, she described her birth in 1988.
Dorota Zawadzka describes the birth in 1988
– “It was 1988. […]. The abusive attendant announced that at 10 o’clock round and they would tell me everything “- begins her entry Dorota Zawadzka. Later she mentions how women were dressed during that time.
In a white, stiff shirt, barely behind the bottom and slit to the navel, without any drawstring giving the possibility of any kind of tying, I felt stripped of dignity, but apparently “it’s more comfortable this way”. Although I still didn’t know to whom and why, I accepted it with humility. After 10 a.m. the doctor showed up, did the examination and said – “you will probably give birth on Wednesday”. And he went.
It turns out that a moment later she was examined, the so-called pelvic meter. The truth is, yes, this test should be done, but between weeks 33 and 37. – “This external pelvic measurement test is an approximation of the size of the birth canal through which the baby is to be born. Normally it should be between 33 and 37 weeks, but somehow I had not. Anyway, the baby was judged to be able to give birth. [..] and was ordered to walk “in case of pain” – explains Zawadzka.
The labor itself was quite short, considering that some women give birth sometimes for 24 hours.
At about 12 o’clock another doctor came and said that my high level of stress sped up my labor, whatever that meant, because no one was measuring that level for me. Nobody talked to me at all. At 1 p.m. I felt that my amniotic fluid was running out, and at 1.35 p.m. I gave birth to a son. Third contraction and swept.
– recalls “Super Nanny”.
After giving birth, the baby was in a separate room
In those days, just after giving birth, babies were transported to a separate room where other newborns were kept. At that time, the women were lying in another, common room, and the children were brought only for feeding. Dorota Zawadzka did not want to agree to this and thus ended up in solitary confinement.
After the delivery, it was not without a hitch, because I did not agree to take my son away from me. I was considered crazy and placed in solitary confinement with my child. […] I wanted PaweÅ‚ek to be with me. It’s a normal procedure today, but rooming in wasn’t popular back then.
– finishes his entry.
There were a lot of comments from Dorota Zawadzka’s observers who have similar experiences.
Ah, those short shirts, hideous … I gave birth in 1980, long overdue, under a drip. The beds in the delivery room were separated by screens made of non-first-purity material, and the midwives on the night duty were sipping coffee and SMOKING CIGARETTES. There were two of us giving birth and left to fend for ourselves. The children were in the ward with their mothers, but I will not forget this shit and dirt (aseptic ward, no visits).
I remember lying in an eight-person room after giving birth. All beds are taken. Around 9 am, a whole team of doctors, including students and nurses, comes in, and the head of the doctor comes to us: and now all the ladies, let’s spread our legs. “I felt like a cow in a stable.
Some of the commentators, however, have a different opinion: – “Mrs. Dorothy was a very good solution for me, that mums could rest after childbirth and 9 months of pregnancy. Now they feed, change, silence, bathe and fall on their mouths themselves. They will return to” home ” to the treadmill, and yes, even though they had a few days rest. I gave birth to four children and I have a very good bond with my children, despite the fact that they did not put my baby on my breast right after giving birth. ”
