“The End of the World, or Kogel-mogel 4” has already been seen by over half a million viewers. “What We Needed”

– There is a lot of respite. I think that’s why – among other things – this film has such a good opening. (…) This is just something we needed – a “comfortable” cinema where we can just sit down, relax, eat this popcorn and watch – said Anna Mucha last weekend on Dzień Dobry TVN. Up to and including January 16, “The End of the World, or Kogel-mogel 4” was seen by exactly 510 thousand 695 viewers.

“The End of the World, or Kogel-mogel 4” with an audience of half a million

Let us remind you that the previous part of the series, “Miszmasz, or 3”, was watched in 2019 by over 2.4 million viewers, which made it one of the most popular Polish productions of that year. The next installment of the cult series was directed by Anna Wieczur. Ilona Łepkowska recalls their cooperation as follows: – In the beginning, we had a few… differences of opinion in the conversations. No quarrels, because Ms Anna is such a calm and well-mannered person that there is no question of arguing with her. But she tried to convince me of some of her ideas, and I tried to convince her that these ideas weren’t always good. We talked for quite a long time, sometimes the talks were difficult, there were more arguments on both sides, but in the end a compromise was achieved. Anyway, I was the person who suggested that “The End of the World” be directed by Anna, because I remembered her first film – “To be like Kazimierz Deyna”. I knew she has a sense of humor and is an efficient director. And it all turned out to be true, so I am very glad that it was she who directed “The End of the World”.

During the conversation with Kultura.gazeta.pl, Anna Mucha also emphasized: – I like that this film is very actors’ cinema, so each of the characters is conducted in a very consistent way. Dorota Stalińska and Kasia Skrzynecka did it in a phenomenal way. I am very happy that I took part in this project: it is both funny and touching, and there are moments when the shivers pass.

The cast of the fourth part of “Kogla-mogla” again includes: Nikodem Rozbicki, Aleksandra Hamkało, Grażyna Błęcka-Kolska, Ewa Kasprzyk, Zdzisław Wardejn, Katarzyna Skrzynecka, Maciej Zakościelny, Anna Mucha, Katarzyna Łaniewska, Paweł Nowisz, Małgorzata Rożniatowska, Wiktor Zborowski , Joanna Jarmołowicz and Wojciech Solarz. They were joined by, among others: Dorota Stalińska, Karol Strasburger and Marian Opania.

In short, the plot promises to be like this: Agnieszka and Marcin’s love is blooming, just like Kasia and professor Wolański. Grandma Solska dreams only of the wedding of her only grandchild. However, his former lover, Bożenka, stands in the way of young Zawada’s happiness. Wolańska decides to radically change her life and disappears in mysterious circumstances. Peace of Piotr and Marlenka is disturbed by the unexpected visit of his mother from overseas … And some very compromising photos trigger an avalanche of events. The real end of the world is ahead.

It is especially worth paying attention to the figure of the mum from overseas: – It occurred to me that we did not meet anyone from Marlenka’s family in the previous part, except her husband, Piotr. Therefore, I could add everything. And I invented a mother who lived in the United States for years. It seemed to me that this specific style of clothing, which characterizes Marlenka, may have its source precisely in the American, kitschy taste. This way, I have come to the point that mummy will suddenly come from America, with suitcases, unannounced. This will be the cause of confusion and problems in this house – said Łepkowska. This character was played by Dorota Stalińska, who emphasized even before the premiere: – I want the viewer to love Marlenka’s mother.

Łepkowska said: – It was not immediately known who would play Marlenka’s mother. When Dorota Stalińska came to the casting and made the splits, simultaneously speaking the Polish-English text as quickly as a machine gun, she charmed us. We knew it was perfect for this.

– When writing the previous scripts, I was not aware that any phrase would become “cult” or that it would enter the colloquial dictionary. This time, I didn’t have that assumption either. Because I think that if someone gets so tense and wants to come up with something very funny and iconic, then nothing will come of it – Ilona Łepkowska also told about working on a new film. – It’s not that I have an assumption “I have to come up with a sentence that everyone will repeat later,” she emphasized.
