‘Harry’ has asked for a judicial review of the decision not to allow him to personally pay for a British police escort for him and his family.
Prince Henry, Duke of Sussex, stated this weekend that it is not safe for him to travel to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle, and with their children, Archie and Lilibet, due to lack of security. This would prevent them from being in Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee in the coming months.
harry besides has appealed the UK government’s decision, which prevents him from seeking police protection when you are in the country, according to English-language media such as the BBC, People, Marie Claire Y Harper’s Bazaar UK.
On January 15, Enrique’s legal representative presented a statement informing why the Duke’s family needs extra protection, in addition to private security.
“The prince inherited a security risk at birth. He’s still sixth in line to the throne, served two combat seasons in Afghanistan, and in recent years his family has received threats from neo-Nazi and extremist groups, all documented,” he alleged. “Although his role in the institution has changed, his profile has not.”
In 1974, Princess Anne, Henry’s aunt and Isabell II’s only daughter, and a member of the royal family who does not receive full-time protection, suffered a kidnapping attempt, and his security officer was shot.
Enrique feels incapable of returning to his homeland, as he affirms that his private security team needs access to british intelligence to do his job well, which was denied him.
“This team cannot replicate the police protection needed in the UK. Without that protection, the prince and his family cannot return to their home”, the official statement also states, and reports that in July 2021, at the unveiling of the statue of his mother, Princess Diana, there were difficulties in security measures.
“In 2020, the Duke offered to pay for the police to protect him and his family. That offer was not considered. Be willing to pay the cost of security, so as not to be burdensome on British taxpayers.”
The document concludes by recalling that other characters who have left public service receive police protection at no cost for them.
Harry and Meghan stepped down from their duties as part of the British royal family two years ago, losing their publicly funded protection.
Omid Scobie, publisher specializing in royalty and author of the book Finding Freedom, about the breakup of the Dukes of Sussex with royalty, wrote in an article for the digital medium @theipaper that while Enrique had to become totally self-sufficient, prince andrew will continue to live a life of luxury, despite being stripped of his royal honors.
Prince Harry was forced to become 100 per cent self-sufficient after stepping back from his royal role, but Andrew—though a short list of honours worse off—will continue to luxuriate in nearly all of the trappings of royal life.

However, Enrique does not enjoy the sympathy of many of his fellow citizens. The newspaper The Sun published a few hours ago an exclusive in which the television presenter Piers Morgan He calls him a hypocrite and maintains that the prince’s attitude is the last thing the queen needs right now.
