The Cuenca singer tells this newspaper that she had a conflictive relationship with her ex-partner, with whom she planned to marry in December of the previous year.
In December 2021, the Cuenca singer Michelle Lamb I had planned to get to the altar. I had everything ready for the big day. However, after a long time of silence, the Ecuadorian artist chose to be brave and share with her close circle the sad reality that she lived. “I close 2021 stronger than ever. I have spent months that have seemed like years, they have been moments when a person is not prepared to live, who listens to them from the outside and says ‘this does not happen’, but that when he lives them they are really very hard. And that in social networks I could not publish everything that I experienced “, details the interpreter.
Supported by her family and closest friends, Cordero affirms that this time has also allowed her to discover who is loyal to her. “Growing as a person has strengthened me, because many tell me that I am brave, that they admire me, but I still cannot see that; the strength of my family, who have been with me; and above all my fansThey are always asking me what has happened to me and, obviously, about my daughter, who is who I wake up for every day, but she is the main thing ”, he says.
“Unfortunately it is not the first time that I have been in a violent relationship. I had a very difficult experience from 12 to 15 years old, with a person with whom I worked. And they say that this cycle of violence cannot be cured except with therapy (…). The brave one, the one who took me out of that circle, was my daughter; She is 6 years old and she was my heroine, she has strengthened me ”, says the Ecuadorian.
Her most recent romantic relationship was on stage, where Cordero claims to have been raped. “Unfortunately I suffered psychological and physical abuse. He is a pastor, I let myself be enchanted a lot by that topic, because I was looking to be closer to God, but when you start living with that person closely, you realize the real situations. I realized that he was an alcoholic person, that he was not really a pastor. They have been really painful situations for me, but having come out of this is quite a big step, and having shared with my followers was also very hard, because one is afraid of criticism, of what they will say. Deep down, you do care. But I have seen an incredible support, an incredible brotherhood ”, maintains.
“The wedding was canceled, I kept the wedding dress, I kept the paid venue, but I stayed alive, with my daughter and my family and what is the most important thing I have”, Michelle Cordero, Ecuadorian singer.
Cordero, who is about to turn fifteen years of artistic career, states that he had preferred to keep quiet about his situation for fear of criticism and that they would not believe what he lived for eight months. “It has been quite a complicated process. I could no longer put on my clothes that I always wore, nor be me, nor sing my music, even my fans they realized that I had to delete a lot of photos, because supposedly this man was religious. (…) Those who have supported me the most have been my mother and my sister, ”he says.
The singer has already filed a legal complaint against her ex-partner, who, according to her, has already returned to the United States.
“The important thing is to realize it in time, before it turns into death or something else. A ring or a wedding dress does not buy happiness at all. The most important thing is to love yourself, especially when you are a mother and have to set an example for your children. Keep going, because life is beautiful ”, emphasizes the artist.
Picking up the music
After this ordeal, Cordero has started working on his songs again. “I am raising an issue precisely for women in January. I’m working with Dennis Fernando on some issues that allow me to be me ”, he admits. This new production will be varied, it will have genres such as cumbia and reggaeton, which will be produced by Prismad Music and will have individual premieres. (I)
