Crown Princess of Sweden tests positive for COVID-19 for the second time in less than a year

Victoria is fully vaccinated, has cold symptoms, but is well.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, who had had covid-19 in March 2021, tested positive for coronavirus again on Saturday, the royal palace announced.

“The crown princess, who is fully vaccinated, has cold symptoms, but is well,” the court wrote in a statement, adding that she was isolated at home, along with her family.

It is the second time in less than a year that Princess Victoria, 45, has tested positive for covid-19.

In March 2021, her husband, Prince Daniel, had also tested positive, which was not announced on Saturday.

Her parents, King Carlos XVI Gustavo, 75, and Queen Silvia, 78, who received three doses of the vaccine, tested positive on Monday.

According to the national health agency, the Nordic country registered 23,877 new cases on January 5, more than double the figures from the December 2020 peak.

On Friday, the kingdom of 10.4 million people had a total of 1,416,650 confirmed cases of COVID-19 contamination, which claimed 15,377 lives. (I)
