Everyone says ‘yes’ to having fun in a musical again. And, as the actress Angy Fernández points out, “people need to laugh”, and more after a global pandemic. Thus, after more than a year and a half with the functions suspended, the new season of musicals raises the curtain and the actors promise to make you smile “from the moment you enter until you leave” the room.
Performers, dancers and the entire cast of the productions that make up the offer of this new season of musicals are ready for the new season, with ‘Tina’, ‘Grease’, ‘Kinky Boots’, ‘Ghost’, o ‘Full Monty’, among the novelties.
Also, roaring by tenth consecutive year will be ‘The Lion King‘, and using the glitter’ Grease ‘. “We are in tears. It has been such a long process …”, says one of the actresses of the musical.
For their part, the artists of ‘Tina’ has taken them two years to release. “We started the auditions before the pandemic and that so much time has passed and we can finally be here is a dream,” says Rone Reinoso, actor.
AND from Broadway itself comes ‘Kinky Boots’ with a Grammy, two Tony Awards and an Olivier under his arm. “It’s very funny. It has moments,” Angy Fernández highlights, to which Daniel Diges adds that “people come out happy.”
“I come to each function like a fire to be able to burn all that scene”, expresses Tiago Barbosa, actor. And it is that fire that will ignite the scenarios off for more than a year and a half pandemic.
More than a million and a half people attended musicals in our country before the pandemic, figures that, they trust, will be repeated this year. Turnover touched 110 million euros, which consolidates Madrid as a benchmark in the music scene.
Now, the actors remind them that they have a date with them in theaters. “We are waiting for each one of you,” says Tiago Barbosa. The boots are now ready to kick the stage and turn it ‘upside down’.
