Kerly Palacios, from Guayaquil, presents her third book, in which she delves into emotions, depression and an unhealed past.

“To those who hurt a love … to those who broke the silence … to those who accepted their fragility with another look”, dedicates his work that tells the story of Valentino and Eunice, a recently married couple who cannot consummate their love in intimacy. “Eunice, the main character, is going to teach us the process that she has to go through in order to face her fears and see if she really wants to save her relationship or is simply going to let herself sink because of what happened, and not move forward”, describes Palacios.
“Valentino is a quite loving man, quite attentive to her … but the point is that understanding and patience sometimes reaches its limit and Eunice sometimes falls into depressions”, adds the author.
He defines it as a book that delves into the emotions and unhealed processes of the past. “That is revealed as a mirror in your partner … it brings many complexes of emotional dependence, inferiority problems, unworthiness … there is a tremendous connection that puts your relationship at stake”, the 27-year-old writer details.
He says he wrote it in December 2020, in just four hours. However, the editing work, adding characters and polishing it, took about six months. “The story was born because it generated in me concern and curiosity to know what would happen if a couple did not have intimacy, without touching on issues of infidelity. I wondered what would happen if a relationship would be sustained with just what we call love or if that sexual component is important in the life of a couple? ” mentions Palacios.
He says to look for a social background in each of his works. “I love books that, besides entertaining, people like them, that they leave a message. I always make sure that my books have that “, he maintains.
“I hope that your story will accompany many people and get them out of the idea of believing that a relationship can collapse due to disinterest or lack of concern for our processes, that is teamwork (…) I want that to prevail , that couples can get ahead, as long as they want to, and each one takes charge of their personal processes ”, he adds.
In Palacios’ work, eroticism and romance flow together, subtly and naturally. The author of other books comThe The wakefulness of my verses (2018) and Aftermath (2020) says that at the beginning it captured this type of sensation with brushstrokes, now it does so without taboos, but with a poetic style present in each of its pages.
