The director of “Holy Figa” was sentenced to eight years in prison and flogging
Mohammad Rasoulof is one of the most important contemporary Iranian filmmakers. In May 2024, the creator was sentenced to eight years in prison, flogging, fine and confiscation of property immediately after it came to light that another film criticizing the authorities was shooting.
