In practice, this means that the process looks the same as when you choose on the 112 keyboard. And what if an ambulance is called to a sudden situation? Does calling 999 make more sense? As it turns out, definitely yes.
Is 112 better than 999? This is the key difference
According to Rynekzdrowia.pl, the idea has already appeared in the past that the number 999 would function in a similar way up to 997 and 998. So the connection would first receive CPR, and then, if necessary, it would be redirected. For now, however, this did not happen, because the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (which is behind this idea) and the Ministry of Health (against) cannot reach an agreement. When choosing number 999, we are currently connecting directly with the dispatcher.
Although the seemingly difference seems small, in fact it can affect “be” or “not” the injured person and urgently in need. Why? In contrast to the medical dispatcher who chooses the connection from number 999, the CPR operator is not a medic. This means that on the preliminary basis it decides whether to transfer the application further, to the dispatcher or not, which in urgent situations extends the process of calling for help.
Better to call 112 or 999? The lifeguard explains
