Germany will lower the power for Polish children? There is a lot to indicate. CDU/CSU won the most voters’ votes and is planning a coalition with SPD. Chades in the election program spoke a lot about the reform of family benefits called Kindergeld. They plan to reduce the amount of the benefit.
What about German Kindergeld? A revolution lurks on the horizon
Currently, every parent working in a monthly receives 255 euros per child. It doesn’t matter if children live in the country or abroad. The new government, however, intends to change the rules and make the amount of benefit depends on the costs of living in the country where the child is staying. And the costs of living in Poland and in Germany are significantly different.
For this reason, many Poles are afraid that they will receive less. According to Eurostat data, the costs of living in Poland are 32.6 percent. lower than the EU average. In our western neighbors, however, they are 8.5 percent higher. Immigrane organizations call for this idea to abandon this idea, and project critics believe that since children’s parents pay taxes in Germany, they should have the right to a full amount.
The German government will reduce the benefit? The argument is budget savings
Mainpost.de pointed out that 525 million euros and as much as 40 percent go from the Kindergeld program for foreign accounts. It was paid to Polish children. CDU/CSU argues, however, that the introduced changes would bring a lot of savings in the German budget. What do you think about the idea of the future German government?
