The first three episodes of the new (and at the same time third) production season have just entered, which really sin not to watch. Jack Reacher returned and this time he goes on a mission under the cover to infiltrate a dangerous criminal organization. It is true that the elephant in the composition of porcelain and should die somewhere in the middle of the second episode, but the eyes from how it balances on the border of the Mtopa and the harsh bang can not be torn off. This is the third season based on the best -selling Lee Child books and according to many foreign reviewers the best. The leading role is the same and I think that it would be stupid to argue with him. Although I can admit a little fear, I can’t have this certainty yet, because I got six of eight episodes, but with what I already saw, I had a great time.
“Reacher”. The third season is the best of all?
For two seasons I have already got used to the fact that Jack Reacher performed by Alan Ritchson is the embodiment of the perfect hero of the action. The ideal of a tough guy “what a real guy should be”. I will quickly summarize the list of its attributes with those who do not know the books or the series:
- Reacher is impossible and efficient,
- is almost two meters of height
- And probably the same number of circuit in the chest muscles (if Michelangelo saw his figure, he would probably cry that his David was a shortcomings).
- He was a very well -deserved soldier who has a long list of awards, as well as resolved investigations, because for years he commanded a special military investigation department.
- He is a specialist in weapons, melee combat, tactical planning and surprise.
- We meet him as a civilian who, with a toothbrush in his pocket, drives around the USA, where his eyes will bear him.
- He is a contemporary nomad resistant to material temptations, only a soldier’s pension is enough for him.
- In addition, he is also extremely intelligent, penetrating has a very good heart.
- Help innocent is his unconditional reflex,
- And he speaks all of it smoothly in French, because his mother came from Paris.
Reacher, of course, also has such a condition that where he does not move, the problems find him himself, and he dedicates from these troubles in such a style that one could suspect that he is closer to him than to an ordinary man.
The comparison to Superman appears here for a reason: 191 cm high and wide in bars like the wardrobe Alan Ritchson makes even athletic and muscled look like a pike with him. This was perfectly visible in the film directed by the film “Ministry of Dangerous Drani” from 2024.
And now let you imagine that in the third season of “Reacher” a guy appears so tall and so packed that Alan seems to be a preschooler with him. So when such a man plays an opponent of a guy who has shown over the previous seasons that he is able to alone defeat a group of prison thugs, hanging from a flying helicopter, can hold with one hand with a stretcher with a woman pinned to them, and killing someone with bare hands is not For him a special effort, it is known that it happens severely.
In the third season, Reacher is still a super-soldier. At the very beginning, however, it seemed to me that he suddenly behaves in an unusual way for himself and allows himself to mistakes, which he usually did not make. And then it turned out that it was part of the strategy. Nevertheless this time we feel that he has a difficult challenge ahead of him. Not only because someone greater and stronger appeared than him, but also because there are unforeseen difficulties in front of him. Reacher is still a step away from slip -up and I warmly hurt how little I was missing from the disaster. I did not trust how absurdly brutal the next solutions turned out to be and how no one has yet dripped in the sub -pit. And then I remembered that this thrill of uncertainty is holding in front of the man’s screen like on high heels. Personally, I do not need this element, but I will not refuse the scriptwriters to finesse in coming up with more demoles, fatal injuries, spectacular explosions and smaller clashes.
“Reacher”. A proven recipe for a successful series
The narrative takes place in two ways. We follow the modern mission, but we also get insight into a significant episode from the past of the main character. He explains his motivation well and cleverly connects with the case to which he was now somewhat pulled against the will. For this, of course, we get a portion of dry jokes, in the third season the theme is coffee and the lack of patience of our hero. Reacher still does not knock down special conversation, but he invariably throws cut and laconic riposts. We also have a lot of situational humor.
This season, there was also a beautiful and not far away from the abilities of Reacher, who of course throws himself on his neck. Nevertheless, this time, instead of serving the hugs scene, they rather display Reacher’s muscles in various shots: without a T -shirt, in the boxers themselves, in a bath towel, during a change of uniform etc. I just hope that Mr. Ritchson did not walk permanently dehydrated, because, as you know, the Hollywood practice is that the shots displaying the sculpture of the actor, this must drastically reduce water consumption for several days. And this is very unhealthy.
There is no groundbreaking revolution here: this is still a story about a good -natured tough guy who lowers a bastard to bad people, he does everything to make justice be done, and he will always find time to make up with stupid and cruel osiłków. We know that although it will be in severe blasting, everything will end well. Our sheriff will do his job, I will promise a pretty lady, and then he will leave towards the sunset – after all, there is no boredom and cliché.
However, it is not easy to make a series of action, whose main character is also a Hollywood ideal male, but by the way he is not a sexist, a buck or an everlasting boy. Reacher can be liked without remorse, because we know that he has a well -set moral compass and uses his skills not for money or dubious interests, and in the so -called “good cause”. In addition, he does it incredibly spectacular. What more could you want?
The biggest problem with the new season is that at the beginning we get only three episodes, and for each subsequent one you will have to wait at weekly intervals. Episodes will appear on Prime Video every Thursday until March 27, 2025 inclusive. I also have good news: in 2024 it was confirmed that the fourth season will be built. And because each of them is based on a different book from the Lee Child series, we do not have to worry that there will be no good source material – novels have already appeared over 20. In addition, 42 -year -old Alan Ritchson promised that he would play Reacher as long as The body will allow him to do so.
