The number of audiovisual productions supported by Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission increases by 11 %

Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission has presented today the data of audiovisual productions in the territory during 2024. The public service created by the City of Bilbao and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia for the attention, management and attraction of filming, explained that during Last year the supported productions (168) have increased by 11 % by the agency, 26 % the shooting days (1294), a 133 % the feature films (28) and 57 % the series (11).
To this balance we must also add 43 advertising spots, 7 photo sessions, 16 short films, 25 television programs, 28 documentaries, 8 video clips and 2 websites in 74 locations.
Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission has computed 448 companies linked to the audiovisual sector in Bizkaia, and a total of 1941 jobs promoted by it, 75.2 % of them concentrated in Bilbao.
Last year, films were recorded in Bizkaia I am Nevenka, Azken erromantikoak, The aitas, The truce, Karmele and Maspalomasin addition to the series Zeru Ahoak, Want and Cathc You Laterto mention some.
Tax benefits
Since 2023, Bizkaia offers a fiscal incentive for productions of any nationality, “provided they prove its cultural value.”
The deduction percentage varies between 35 % and 60 %, and can be increased by an additional 10 % for those productions in full shot in Basque, thus reaching a maximum deduction of 70 %.

This same year, there are already several audiovisual projects underway in Bizkaia.
