She told about the consequences of an early retirement for women. This is “a denial of equality”

According to some, the retirement age of women and men should be equated. This topic, of course, arouses a lot of controversy and often causes dumb discussions. Ilona Kostecka recently referred to this issue. In her opinion, the current solution is unfair to both plants.

Poland is one of two countries in Europe where there is a difference between the retirement age of women and men (the second is Romania). Ladies can retire at the age of 60, and gentlemen – 65. What’s more, the retirement age of women in our country is the lowest on the entire continent. It is often emphasized that this is a fair solution, which is related to, among other things, that women often deal with home and children.

Earlier retirement for ladies? “Not just not only for men”

Some time ago Ilona Kostecka, author of children’s books and Parenting blogger, published a recording on the equalization of the retirement age of women and men. She emphasized that this issue is extremely often raised under her posts on social media.

According to Ilona Kostecka, an earlier pension for one sex is really a denial of equality. “He is unfair not only for men, but also for women,” she said. Later in her recording, she told about the effects of such a solution.

Seniorki is a group most at risk of poverty

As Kostecka reminds, by earlier pensions, women receive benefits lower by 30-40 percent than men. In addition, many ladies are still financially dependent on men. And what is important, seniors are most at risk of poverty.

There is also a social expectation that women will go to earlier pensions to deal with their grandchildren. Thanks to this, the state does not have to create new nurseries. – I remind you that the recently introduced benefit was called “grandmother”. Why not “grandpa?”– asks Kostecka. In her opinion, current solutions do not allow just to share work between women and men. In addition, ladies still have to perform many free duties.

Many commentators agreed with the author’s arguments. “Women retire with property a quarter less than men, and this difference increases in the case of positions requiring the highest qualifications”, “it must be repeated, it may reach. Unfortunately, some women …” – we can read in the comments section under the film on Instagram.

Expert: Maintaining the current state means low benefits for women

In recent years, we can hear voices from time to time that the retirement age of women and men should be razed. However, it is no secret that no politician will decide on such a step at present, because such a solution would mean a sharp decline in social support. – Because if he says it, he will lose the election – said Dr. Marcin Wojewódka in an interview with the Polish Press Agency. However, according to the expert Maintaining the current state of affairs “means low retirement benefits, especially for women.”
