“Dad arranged everything from work”
Many people do not see anything bad in small thefts. Edyta’s experience reminds about this. During the study, our interlocutor rented a room in a student apartment. The owner of the apartment also lived with her and other tenants. The woman worked in a restaurant on a dishwasher.
– Every day another jug appeared in our kitchen with the logo of a well -known company. At some point they ceased to fit in the cabinets. It was the owner of the apartment who brought them from work. In the end, however, the employer realized and released it – he says. Then the woman where Edyta lived began working in a popular drugstore. – Our bathroom was quickly cluttered with economic chemistry and cosmetics. They were often completely unnecessary – reveals our interlocutor.
Edyta also mentions that the owner often boasted that the renovation of the apartment was almost free, because “Her dad arranged everything from work”. – Her father worked at the office and when I had to go there to do something, I understood what she was all about. Wall colors, tiles and even plafonds, everything was the same as in our apartment – ends Edyta.
Theft at work as a compensation for a low salary?
Paweł, as a student, worked for two years in a cafe of a popular network. – I know that some people from the team happened to carry milk or packaging of coffee grains. Then it was very outraged. Now I have a slightly looser approach to this – 32-year-old tells us.
According to Paweł, these types of offenses were nothing compared to how some Polish politicians progress. – Let’s face it, these were penny losses for these large corporations. Now when I hear about travels to Hawaii, Deluxe apartments, which we consist of as taxpayers, I know that these thefts in the place can simply be treated as compensation for funny low salaries – says Paweł.
Cabinets and handbags were checked regularly
Some employers are aware of the problem and try to fight it. Martyna once worked in a clothing chain. As she emphasizes, she never stolen anything in her life. That is why the attitude of the then employer irritated her. – They checked us cabinets and bags after each change. I felt like a thief because of it – he says.
Marek, on the other hand, worked in a hotel restaurant for some time, one of the more expensive in Warsaw. – We regularly had branchy and checking backpacks. In this way, it was controlled whether we do not take wine bottles or cutlery – he recalls.
Łukasz witnessed how one of the people was released for using a company car for private purposes. – This colleague was shocked because we worked at the state institution. He assumed that he just deserved it and no one would ever pay attention to it. However, some other employees had to report him, who frustrated that someone allowed themselves more than them. Since the dismissal of this person, this type of issues have been subject to strict control -the end.
The employer may terminate the contract without notice
In many companies, there is no consent for even the smallest thefts. And actions to the detriment of employers are reflected in the Labor Code. Pursuant to Article 100, the employee is “obliged in particular: take care of the good of the workplace, protect his property and keep secret information that could be exposed to the employer.” However, non -compliance with this principle may be associated with certain sanctions.
As provided for in Article 52 of the said Code, the employer “may terminate the employment contract without notice due to the employee in the event of a serious violation of the employee’s basic employee duties or the employee committing a crime during the duration of the employment contract, which prevents him from further employing him in his position.”
