The main hero of the series is a policeman Adam Kruk (), who after a difficult and bumpy fight against addiction to painkillers tries to get on his feet. Initially, everything goes well with his thoughts. He expects the birth of a child and regains his authority at work. Everything changes when an old friend appears unexpectedly in his life. He forces him to return to his hometown of Podlasie to equalize bills from years ago.
Despite the reluctance, Kruk goes to Białystok, where he has to face the trauma associated with staying in the care center in which he grew up. In the meantime, he is assigned to resolve a mysterious disappearance of the teenage son of a local businessman. He throws himself into the vortex of work and tries to escape from painful memories and the past, but this turns out to be inseparable from present events.

A real galaxy of Polish stars appeared in the cast.
