On this occasion, the relatives of the King of Reggae prepared a unique concert under the slogan “Uprising”, commemorating all his achievements and careers. Information about the death of Bob Marley moved his fans around the world. The artist died on May 11, 1981 at the age of 36. The reason was an untreated disease, which was diagnosed with an advanced stage. Few know, however, that life could lose much earlier – as a result of an assassination at his private estate.
It began with a serious crisis in Jamaica, which in the second half of the 1970s turned into political conflicts. In order to give citizens a substitute for normality, the Ministry of Culture undertook an organization under the slogan “Smile Jamaica”. Many thought that the intentions were different, and at this way they tried to gain support for the Socialist People’s National Party. When Marley expressed his desire to take part in the event, some of his fans did not hide his bitterness.

On December 3, 1978, only 2 days before the concert mentioned, Marley and the musicians from The Wailers made a test in his private estate. At some point armed appeared in it. They fired several shots, injuring, among others Don Taylor, Lewis Griffith and the artist’s wife.

He settled in Great Britain, where he graduated in “Exodus” and released the iconic “Kaya” album.
