The documentary feature film The witch hunt in Lapurdi, directed by Marie Thiry, will premiere this Thursday, January 30, at 09:30 in Municipal Casino de Biarritz, within the framework of the International Documentary Film Festival of Biarritz, Fipadoc, which It will be held in the city between January 24 and February 1.
The film, in which EITB participates, can also be seen on Friday 31, at 4:15 p.m. at the Bellevue Auditorium. Witch hunting in Lapurdi uses as a thread the book of the inquisitor judge Pierre de Lancre, sent to the 17th century to the Basque Country, to address the persecution of women convicted of witchcraft throughout Europe.
The 89 -minute film resorts to images of the movie Akelarre by Pablo Agüero, including several unpublished scenes of this film, and has the participation, among others and others, of Laurent Fénart as director of photography and composer Pascal Gaigne ( Handia …) in charge of original music.
