The municipality of La Gallega (Burgos) has a population of 40 inhabitantsbut tonight it will host a concert by the person responsible for the song of the summer. Isabel Aaiún will take her ‘Potra Salvaje’ through the streets of the town, which are being prepared at forced marches for accommodate nearly 3,000 people. “We have been preparing for this day for several months, and it has finally arrived,” said a resident.

The performance, which is part of the poster of the festivities from the Burgos town, was signed just before the summer, at which time the remix of Aauiún’s song became known in every corner of the country.

Monica was the visionary in charge of signing a contract that is now worth gold: “I started listening to it, I started liking it and at the events we do in the town when we all get together, I started playing it.” Such is her devotion that she has it set as her ringtone. To get it, wrote to the artist’s representative on social media: “And the next day he answered me and that’s where it all began,” adds Monica.

Subsequently, convinced the mayor of the town to hire her. A move that, without knowing it, has been more than profitable for them. For that same action, Today ‘La Potra’ earns five times more than what was agreed a few months ago. Francisco Peñas, mayor of La Gallega, is incredulous but prepared for the visit: “We are not used to any of this. We have created a parking area and have closed off the entire town centre so that vehicles cannot access it.”

Such is the affection they have for the singer from Segovia, that this year she will be the town crier of the festivities.
