It was during her studies that she met Bogdan Hussakowski, who lectured at the Directing Department. A passionate feeling quickly erupted between the young student and the lecturer, who was 11 years her senior, and they became a couple. When she defended her diploma in the mid-1970s, it was he who offered her a position at the Opole Dramatic Theatre, which he managed at the time. Although she accepted the job, she did not want her beloved to help her with her career. She was ambitious and knew that if she achieved success, it would only be through persistent and consistent work, not “connections”.
The community quickly appreciated her attitude and during the 4th Opole Theatre Confrontations she received a distinction for playing Zosia in the staging of “Dziady”. In the meantime, she also appeared as a guest in the Television Theatre and on various stages in the country, including Krakow and Łódź, where she finally moved in 1979, joining the cast of the Stefan Jaracz Theatre. Viewers bought tickets for her performances en masse, and critics did not spare her praise in their reviews. Despite her considerable popularity, she was unable to find a place for herself in the film industry for a long time.
