Mariusz Bonaszewski made his debut in 1986 with an episode in Janusz Kijowski’s “Maskarada”, and today he has many excellent productions to his credit, such as “Zatoka Spies”, “March ’68”, “Jack Strong”, “Kurier”, “Czas Honoru”, “Glina”, “Na dobre i na złe” and . It was the role in the latter title that saved his life.
A fan of “Friends” diagnosed Bonaszewski with the disease. The actor was immediately put on the operating table
Bonaszewski joined the cast of the hit Polsat series in 2015 and for 2 years played the role of Jerzy Ginter, Inga’s father (). One of the fans of “Przyjaciółki” was a doctor who, while watching one of the episodes, noticed that the actor was moving unusually. This immediately reminded him of symptoms of a serious illness, which he decided to inform the production. He found the station’s contact number and then made a phone call, asking to tell Bonaszewski that he should go to the hospital for a consultation. Fortunately, the slightly surprised crew did not treat this message as a joke and contacted the actor, who immediately decided to seek advice from a specialist. The tests performed confirmed the idea that the viewer had “seen through the screen”. However, this was not the end.
It was thanks to the intervention of a fan that Bonaszewski ended up on the operating table in 2017 and underwent serious surgery. – Mariusz has already had brain surgery. We don’t know exactly what happened, but it was serious – one of the employees told the “Dobry Tydzień” magazine, adding that the procedure was successful. – It’s amazing that the doctor sat down in front of the TV at the right time, and the patient took his words seriously. He was incredibly lucky to have found a great specialist – he admitted.
The star of “Friends” revealed what was wrong with him. Now Bonaszewski claims that a fan saved his life
Bonaszewski recovered quite quickly after the procedure, but he was not able to return to the stage and to work on the set right away, as he still had several weeks of rehabilitation ahead of him. Some time later, he gave several interviews in which he revealed that he had been diagnosed with pituitary adenoma two years earlier, but he had no idea about it. However, during his busy period, he realized that something was wrong, because despite the intensity of his duties, he did not feel tired. “At that time, I was playing a difficult performance, during which I lost two kilograms every evening. I came home, I did not feel like sleeping. I woke up at 6 a.m. and went running,” he recalled the time before the procedure. “I knew I was on some kind of doping, but I did not know which one,” he said, adding that he almost had a heart attack. Fortunately, everything ended well and to this day he is grateful to the viewer for such a quick intervention. If you’d like, please vote in our poll below.
