Halina Skoczyńska dreamed of becoming a . When she was a little girl, she made her debut in the play “Anna Livia” by James Joyce on the stage of the Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław. Both the audience and the critics were delighted with her, and new offers came in a flash. Initially, she linked her career path with the stage. She first appeared on screen 2 years after graduating, playing a cameo in the drama film “Kung-Fu” directed by Janusz Kijowski. In the following years she took part in many productions, both in film and television. She had over 80 roles in titles such as “Oh, Karol”, “Na dobre i na złe”, “Popielec”, “Pitbull”, “Ida”, “Głęboka Woda”, “Czas honoru” and .
Although she enjoyed success after success professionally, private life was not kind to her. In an interview for “Grazia”, which she gave just a year before her death, she revealed that she quickly lost the people closest to her. First her father died, and then her older sister, with whom she was very close. “I myself escaped from under the grave digger’s shovel at the age of 30,” she said at the time. After divorcing her husband, she raised Szczepan alone, who also had serious health problems. “The doctors prepared me for the worst,” she recalled. When his health situation stabilized, her beloved mother passed away after a long struggle with illness.

Despite numerous life adventures, the actress did not lose her joy of life, and her optimism infected everyone she came into contact with. In 2016, she began intensive preparations for the premiere of “Yours and Mine” by Morna Regan, directed by Robert Gliński, on the stage of the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw, which she was exceptionally excited about. However, viewers were not given the opportunity to see her in another role. On May 17, she suffered a sudden stroke and although she received help immediately, her life could not be saved. “It was an aneurysm. She did not even know she had it. The operation lasted almost 12 hours, doctors fought for her life until the end,” said with regret Michał Grudziński, who played her character’s husband in “Rodzinka.pl”.
