We are just a few hours away from the first of three Taylor Swift concerts planned in Poland in 2024. The next ones will take place on August 2 and 3 at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw. Today’s event will coincide with the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, which are planned in the capital.
Taylor Swift in Poland: Swifties Reveal Songs She Could Sing to Celebrate Warsaw Uprising
In connection with the historic date, Polish Swiftites turned to Taylor Swift on Tik Tok with suggestions for songs that the singer could sing during her first concert. “Hi Taylor! We have a request for you for the first evening in Warsaw, which will take place on August 1, the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. We know that August is important to you, but it is also important to us, because the Warsaw Uprising, if you don’t know, was a very big event in World War II,” began the fans of the American artist.
“There were only a few people left in Warsaw and it was a lost fight from the start and people had no hope of winning it – they just wanted to show that they could still fight, that they could do something. So they resisted the Germans as long as they could, surprised everyone and were very strong and brave. We still have many people who survived and we commemorate these people every August 1st. So we thought about the two best songs that you could sing to celebrate this event and they would be ‘The Great War’ and ‘Daylight’. The first one because it’s dramatic and full of problems and struggles and the second one because it shows the light at the end of the tunnel and the hope that these people brought in those times,” they added.
Angelika Mucha, who has already participated in several Taylor Swift concerts in Europe, also made a request to the American singer. However, the influencer was not interested in the date of the Warsaw Uprising, but in her favorite song. “Could you please sing “Slut!” during any concert for me and other Polish fans? It’s my favorite song and my biggest dream right now is to hear it…. I’m begging you on my knees,” we hear on the recording.
