Polish film outstripped even foreign hits on Netflix. “Colors of Evil” didn’t stand a chance either

The film is ahead of “Colors of Evil. Red”, the second part of “The In-Laws”, “Mr. Kleks’ Academy”, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” and all other titles that hit the Netflix platform this year. Poles were most likely to choose a domestic production that did not appeal to critics.

“It’s an art to fall out so spectacularly at every step while walking down an asphalt road in expensive running shoes,” wrote Jakub Dębski about the film. “An ode to the Gardener who overdoses on himself, but the moral is important,” summed up Łukasz Adamski, and Ewelina Leszczyńska added: “When you want to tell a story about an unconventional teacher, but you went to school 20 years ago and the only film you’ve seen is ‘Dangerous Men’.”

Critics have slammed the film. Viewers still want to watch it

Although the film “Fuck Mickiewicz” did not appeal to most critics, it did not stop it from conquering streaming. When Sara Busmante-Drozdek’s production hit Netflix, it began to record impressive interest. Today we know that it is the most watched Polish film on the platform this year.

According to the FlixPatrol portal, which analyzes the viewership of streaming services around the world, the number one on Netflix in Poland for the last seven months is the film “Fuck Mickiewicz”. Tadeusz Lampka’s production also outshines “Minions”, “Top Gun. Maverick”, and among other domestic titles, it leaves far behind such famous productions as: “Nothing by force”, “Hunting”, “Love like honey” and “Baby boom, or Kogel Mogel 5”.

At this point, it is worth recalling that just three days after the April premiere of “Fuck Mickiewicz” on Netflix, the film topped the service’s Top 10 list and held that position for 13 days in a row.
